Hello, I am Dr Julia E M Cussans, a freelance archaeozoologist with over sixteen years professional experience working in both the commercial and academic sectors. I have worked on a variety of large scale projects in Northern Britain and Eastern England as well as numerous smaller projects.

Archaeozoological analyses and report writing are offered for animal bone and marine shell assemblages. All levels of reporting are available, from trial trench evaluations and assessments for updated projects designs to full recording and analysis for research archive reports and publications. Onsite consultancy and bone and shell washing can also be provided as necessary. I am also happy to provide assistance with staff training and outreach work in the form of oral or poster presentations or through interactive workshops.

I am based in rural Norfolk just outside of Norwich and usually work from home where I have a dedicated workshop and storage area capable of storing c. 170 standard archive boxes; further storage can also be sourced locally. I am also able to travel either to collect assemblages, to work on them elsewhere if necessary, or to make site visits.
